Well, to say that 12 episodes into the 5th season, you can say you really gave it a try. Having read the famous light novel, I don't mind the donghua, because it just brings to life all my favorite characters.

In like 2,3 episodes u should see the iconic Beast outbreak fight. Nieli will break through too
